Detail: Feasibility & Planning

A contemporary new build family home located within a conservation area on the edge of an established East Sussex settlement. The proposal replaces an existing dwelling and is required to sit close to the road frontage, allowing the house to open up towards expansive views across the landscape and down to a large pond at the rear of the site.

The architecture draws from the local vernacular through form and materiality, with dark, contextual finishes and a prominent hung clay tile feature. The design carefully considers its location within a Dark Skies area, integrating low-impact lighting strategies throughout.
