Cheam road


Hoban Design were commissioned by Sutton Housing Society to provide proposals for alterations and extensions to the existing building at 70 Cheam Road. The site is currently occupied by Norman House, a three storey residential building with a single storey central rear wing, providing independent housing for older people. The existing building currently provides 19 affordable rented flats for people over the age of 55 and 8 residents parking psaces.

The new development proposes a net total of 13 new affordable rented flats for people over the age of 55. The units will be a mix of both 1B1P and 1B2P flats. The new development proposes to retain the existing building on the site, adding a new set back fourth storey above the existing three storey structure. Two new three storey extensions of residential accommodation are proposed to the existing building to the rear.

Hoban Design are delighted to announce that planning permission for the proposal was granted in early 2020 and we are currently undertaking work on the detailed design stage.
