Brighton Roadis a part four part three storey building located on the eastern side of 125 Brighton House. The building is traditional in style with yellow facing brickwork and clay-tile pitched roofing. The buildings on the site comprise two east-west orientated blocks which sit parallel with Brighton Road (one at the front of the site and one at the back). These two blocks are linked by a central walkway and building through the centre of the site flanked by communal courtyard garden spaces.
The site consists of four separate building scales ranging from between 1-4 storeys. Brighton Road currently provides 49 affordable rented flats for people over the age of 55 and 19 residents car parking spaces
Hoban Designs proposals have created an additional 17 new affordable rented flats for people over the age of 55. the units will be a mis of both 1B1P and 1B2P flats. The new development proposes to retain the existing building on the site, adding an additional residential storey to the existing three storey block at the front of the site facing Brighton Road. A new residential third and fourth storey is proposed to the rear accommodation block. Hoban design are pleased to announce that planning was granted in early 2020 and the project is currently at detailed design stage.
