Conversion of a doctor’s surgery into a unique family home featured in 25 Most Beautiful Homes.

Hoban Design’s quirky project on Balmuir Gardens in Putney features in a 4-page spread in one of the UK’s most popular interiors magazine.

The disused 1930’s former GP’s surgery was cleverly transformed into a 21st Century 4-bedroomed home in one of SW London’s most desirable areas.

Due to the unusual site arrangement, our architectural team had to design alternative ways of bringing day-light into the spaces through large frameless rooflighting and enlarged front windows.

An exterior breakfast terrace was cleverly squeezed into the front area, and the existing institutional façade was manipulated to provide a softer, residential aesthetic. As a result, an truly idiosyncratic and dynamic home was created that maintains a unique history and sits comfortably within its urban environment.
